Pepper Shop’s Sri Lankan Curry (Lumprice)

Entering into April, warm spring is here and customers are now taking more iced drinks! The shift of the season is quite visible with the orders from the customers at our cafe with more cold drinks.
The ingridients that are seen in the market are also full of spring cuisines. How about a Sri Lankan curry to keep your immune system healthy with spices!

As the year moves on, seasonal ingridients are changing too.
The theme of April is “Spring is here” using various ingridients from the market.
Instead of surving our Sri Lankan curry, we are serving Sri Lankan style Biriyani this month which is commonly eaten at Sri Lanka with there new year!

Pepper Shop’s Sri Lankan Curry is available to all customers with 1800 yen once a month under reservation.
It is for “to go/take away” only.
With in the curry, there are always 3-4 types of main curry and 6-9 side dishes that are specially cooked by our chef.

As its been, this curry is sold under reservations only. Please either order the curry with pre-payments at Tsukiji Peppers Cafe or make the reservation online at our online store.

Seasonal Vegetables: White Eggplant・Rock Mozuku・Daylily Shoot
Seasonal Seafoods: Sakura Shrimp・Firefly Squid

■Black Pork Curry: Using pork marinated with Goraka which is known as spice to have special sourness.
The kick from the black pepper and goraka matches very well.
■Parrippu curry with White kidney beans:The seasonal white kidney beans “Shinsen-Azuki” known as rare white kidney beans in Japan due to the fact that no breed improvement is done to it.
■Firefly Squid Curry:Seasonal firefly squid stewed with roasted homemade Thuna Paha.
■Egg Curry: Boiled egg stir-fried with various spices and aromatic vegetable selected by chef.

9 Side Dishes

■Daylily Shoot & Clam Thel dala: The seasonal daylily shoot and clam(Hamaguri) stir-fried with spices.
■Brussel sprout & Dried daikon Hal Masso Thel Dala: A savory stir-fry of Brussels sprouts with sun-dried organic daikon from Hyuga, Miyazaki, and richly flavored young dried sardines (kaeri chirimen) from Shizuoka.
■ Eggplant Moju (White Eggplant Marinade) A signature Sri Lankan dish. Seasonal white eggplant from Kochi Pref. is lightly fried and marinated in a fragrant mixture of coconut vinegar and spices, reminiscent of a refined agedashi-style preparation.
■Ajisai Negi Thel Dala:A specialty leek from Matsudo, Chiba, stir-fried with Maldives fish and chili, then finished with a refreshing citrus note. Light and aromatic, it resembles a delicate furikake-style accompaniment.
(The name “Ajisai” is said to derive from “aji” meaning flavor, and “sai” referring to its vibrant color.)
■ Marinated Red Cabbage with Cumin:A refreshing red cabbage marinade delicately scented with cumin.
■ Watercress & Sakura Shrimp Coconut Sambol:Field-grown watercress from Chiba—far more vibrant in flavor than typical market varieties—combined with Suruga Bay sakura shrimp, dressed as a fresh coconut sambol.
■Rock Mozuku, Flying Fish Roe & Green Chili Sambol:Fresh rock mozuku seaweed from Noto dressed with our house-made ponzu, Maldives fish, and bright green chili. The popping texture of flying fish roe adds a lively accent.
■Green Vegetable mustard stir-fry: Seasonal Green vegetable stir-fried with mustard oil.
■Seasonal Small Fish Fry: Small fish coated in our house-made spiced flour and fried until crisp.
