Pepper Shop’s Sri Lankan Curry (Lumprice)

Entering into mid-October, finally it started to feel like fall. Just as the weather now is like fall which it should be at this time of year, the ingridients that are seasonal changed totally into fall color. How about a Sri Lankan curry to keep your immune system healthy with spices!

As the year moves on, seasonal ingridients are changing too.
The theme of October is “Fall is here” using various spring ingridients.

Pepper Shop’s Sri Lankan Curry is available to all customers with 1500 yen once a month under reservation.
It is for “to go/take away” only.
With in the curry, there are always 3-4 types of main curry and 6-9 side dishes that are specially cooked by our chef.

As its been, this curry is sold under reservations only. Please either order the curry with pre-payments at Tsukiji Peppers Cafe or make the reservation online at our online store.

(Flavored Rice)

■Tamarind Rice: This time, instead of plain basmati rice, we’ve prepared a fragrant mixed rice cooked with tamarind, a variety of spices, and pandan leaves for aroma. Fresh tamarind is in season, so please enjoy this special version of our rice.

(4 Main Curries)

■Mackerel Curry: A rich curry made with seasonal mackerel, full of natural oils.
The tanginess of goraka (a souring fruit) and tomato blends beautifully with the richness of the fish.

■Sweet Potato and Lentil Curry: A mild and hearty curry featuring seasonal red sweet potatoes and lentils, topped with roasted sesame seeds and coconut.

■Daikon Curry: A curry reminiscent of simmered daikon, infused with the deep umami of Maldive fish stock.
■Egg Curry: Boiled egg stir-fried with various spices and aromatic vegetable selected by chef.

(7 Side Dishes)

■Burdock Root and Walnut Thal Dala: A stir-fry of seasonal burdock root and walnuts. 

The crunchy texture adds a lovely accent to the curry plate.
■Peanut and Dried Fish Thal Dala: Fragrant roasted peanuts stir-fried with baby sardine and glazed with rare Kithul honey.
■Sri Lankan-Style Mashed Potatoes: Mash potato made from fluffy Kita Akari potatoes,
prepared in Sri Lankan style.
■Marinated Red Cabbage: Marinated red cabbage with spices.
■Turnip Achaar: Seasonal turnip marinated with homemade spice marinade.

■Snake Gourd Sambol: A refreshing blend of snake gourd and grated coconut.
The mild flavor of snake gourd complements all four curries perfectly.
■Spice-Fried Seasonal Fish: Seasonal Fish fried with homemade seasoning-mix
