Thank you very much for your visit to the Tsukiji Peppers Cafe all the time and also for ordering our Monthly Thai Curry.
September is nearly end. The ingridients are changing from summer to fall. Due to the fact that heat is calming down, we see a lot of family trip to Tsukuji Fish Market everyday for both domestic and international tourist.
The change in the season is quite visible when you look at the seasonal ingrdients at the market.
Different from the Srilankan curry that we serve monthly, Thai curry uses various types of fresh herbs along with the various spices.
The combination of different herbs in the homemade curry paste result as different Thai curry such as Green curry, Red curry, etc.
Adding coconut milk into the homemade curry paste brings some fusion of sweetness and spiciness resulting as providing authentic Thai flavor.
At this time of the year, we have to be careful from catching cold due to temperture difference between the morning and daytime. How about some Craft Thai Curry using various spices and herbs to maintain your health with the changing weather?
The Craft Thai Curry of October will be Stir-Fried Crab Curry [Poo Pad Pong Curry] – Fragrant with Spices and Thai Herbs using ingridients from the market carefully selected by our chef.
Same as the Srilankan Curry we serve monthly,

Menu of October - Stir-Fried Crab Curry [Poo Pad Pong Curry]
渡り蟹のカレー炒め【プーパッポンカレー】
■ Stir-Fried Crab Curry [Poo Pad Pong Curry]
“Poo” means crab, “Pad” means stir-fry, and “Pong Curry” refers to curry powder.
Originally, this dish was nothing more than stir-frying crab with curry powder.
For our version, we use fresh Japanese blue swimming crab from Tokyo Bay,
and top it with soft-shell crab that can be enjoyed whole, shell and all.
Staying true to the classic recipe, we stir-fry aromatic vegetables with our house-made
curry powder, then gently bind the crab’s rich flavor with our original egg mixture.
The finishing touch is a drizzle of “Aka-abura” (red oil),
the fragrant surface oil skimmed from our house-made chili-in-oil.
■ Seafood Salad – Yam Pla Talay
A seasonal seafood salad featuring squid, clams, razor clams, and shrimp.
The sweet heat of chili-in-oil blends beautifully with the fragrance of fresh herbs,
making it the perfect companion to our Poo Pad Pong Curry.
Though simple in preparation, this dish showcases an
unexpectedly delicious way to enjoy fresh seafood.
